2200 HOURS - DIRECT BILLING

As a competitive athlete and coach growing up I have always been interested and intrigued by the human mind and body.  This curiosity continued to grow as I completed my Bachelor of Science at the University of Alberta as a Psychology Major.  Once I graduated, I was quickly drawn to massage therapy and enrolled in MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy 2200 hour program.  Throughout the two year program I was able to expand my knowledge in advanced anatomy, physiology, orthopaedic assessment, and stretching and strengthening techniques.  I also learned different relaxation and therapeutic massage techniques including Swedish massage, Trigger Point therapy, Myofascial Release, Hydrotherapy, Sports massage and Prenatal massage.

Working as a therapist I have come to appreciate the opportunity to focus on injury prevention, rather than injury management and treatment.  I am passionate about helping others and I believe that everyone can benefit from massage therapy whether they are suffering from chronic conditions, a high stress lifestyle or simply want to maintain a healthy mind and body.  I strive to provide client specific treatments by doing a thorough interview and ensuring all your needs and health goals are met with hands on treatment and home care options.

Outside of the treatment room, I enjoy spending time with my family, practicing yoga and travelling as much as possible. Bloom Therapy Massage and Wellness is my passion realized. I can’t wait to assist you on your personal health journey toward a pain free and balanced body.

2200 HOURS - DIRECT BILLING

Having worked for many years with individuals experiencing a variety of health concerns, my interest in a holistic approach to healthcare grew.  I was drawn to massage therapy as a means to address these concerns, and enrolled in MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy's 2200 hour program.  I gained extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and the ways in which massage therapy can contribute to the effective functioning of the various systems of the body.  My interest in the medical benefits of massage therapy has expanded to an appreciation of the preventative aspects of massage.  As a massage therapist I have had the opportunity to treat individuals experiencing chronic pain, acute injuries, as well as individuals dealing with stressful situations.  My interest in listening to each person’s experience, and adapting my treatment to their needs is important to a positive treatment plan.  I believe that maintaining as active a lifestyle as possible is one of the most important aspects of health and wellness. I am passionate about assisting my clients in achieving the highest level of wellness possible.

In my spare time, I enjoy quiet time with friends and family, or working in my garden.  The activities that keep me healthy and smiling are enjoying nature through running, cycling, and skiing.

2200 HOURS - DIRECT BILLING

My background in athletics and interest in physiology and human anatomy drew  me to a career in Massage Therapy. In 2012 I enrolled at Grant MacEwan University to expand my understanding of advanced anatomy, physiology, orthopaedic assessment and kinesiology. Over the course of my diploma, I acquired the methods and skills used in: Swedish Massage, Prenatal Massage, Infant and Child Massage, Hydrotherapy, Sports Massage, Myofascial Release, Active/Passive Release, Trigger Point Release and Deep Tissue Massage techniques. I entered into Massage Therapy with a strong desire to heal, both physically and emotionally. While I do not have post-secondary training in psychology, I do strive to provide a safe and comfortable environment, allowing my patient the opportunity to release the stress of the day, relaxing in a soft melody. My goal is always focused on the details, no matter how small, that will allow you to leave the studio restored, with your injuries mending.

Outside of the studio, I spend a great deal of time with my family, soaking up every moment with my nieces and nephews, before they turn another year older. When I'm not with them, there is a good chance I am going on a walk or a run with my husband, Shane, and dog, Bella. I'm ecstatic to be part of such a positive team at Bloom Therapy and I can't wait to begin treatments with you!

Having always played an active part in some sort of sport, from basketball to showing horses along with being the First Aid trainer for various sports teams, I have always been amazed with how the body works. When I found out how beneficial massage therapy was for myself, my family and even my horses, I just had to learn more. Not long after I enrolled in MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy, where I am currently completing my 2nd year of their 2200 hour course. The depth of the anatomy and physiology that we go through has blown my mind completely. The knowledge of the body systems and how they work has truly given me a whole new outlook on just how amazing the human body is and how easy it is to take it for granted.

My passion is helping clients experiencing lower back pain. Having lots of experience with low back pain myself, I feel like I am able to understand my clients on a deeper level. At a young age I found out that I had an extra vertebrae, which normally would not be an advantage nor a disadvantage, but in my case it consistently caused pain and discomfort, leading to many chiropractor visits, specialists appointments and eventually to massage therapy. Knowing what massage has done for me I am very excited to share my knowledge and help you and your body reach your ultimate goal of moving pain free, enhancing relaxation and improving your quality of life. I feel very blessed to have this opportunity to work with such a positive and passionate team. I look forward to meeting you and hearing your goals so we can work together to achieve them!
